Information in English

NSR is the rowing club to be part of in Norwegian rowing. We are located at 4 locations in and around the Oslo area. Please read some more about our history and/or contact us for more thorough information.

Norske Studenters Roklub – NSR – (Norwegian Students’ rowing club) was established in 1897 by three young students. The club moved to a new location at Bygdøy peninsula in Oslo in 1903. The club expanded quickly, and in 1923 a new and bigger club house was ready – the one you can find today, at 2 Huk Avenue. Here we have a beautiful club house – also a sought after venue for weddings and other grand occasions – as well as boats and training facilities etc.

The club possesses most types of boats, wide-, race- and boats with ¾ length riggers. Some of the boats may also be used for overnight trips.

New members must receive basic training before they are allowed out on their own.

NSR is the leading club in Norway, both junior and senior rowers are competing at international level, and the club has won the national cup the last years. The club also has a very active group of hobby rowers. NSR has a cottage not far from Oslo, with excellent facilities for skiing and exploring the huge forests surrounding Oslo. Please find info on Frøshaug on the web page. Frøshaug is lovely both summer and winter, and may be hired. Contact j.kolberg@online.no

There is also Solodden, by the Oslo fjord about 15 minutes drive from the centre of Oslo. Solodden consists of several small cabins, as well as a big boathouse, and is excellent for summer weekends or events. Please find info on Solodden on the web site, or contact jpett-je@online.no

Several nationalities are represented among our more than 500 members, ranging from 12 years to 91 years of age. If you live in Oslo and are looking for somewhere to row at any level, please get in touch. Are you an experienced rower visiting Oslo, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Send an email to styre@roklubben.no or drop by to see us. During the summer months, the ferry from the City Hall will take you across to Bygdøy and first stop Dronningen, otherwise the no. 30 bus (Bygdøy) and the stop next to the Viking Ships is a short five minute walk away.
